Certification

A diamond certificate or a diamond grading report certifies the authenticity and quality of a diamond. The certificate is issued by diamond laboratories where a team of professional gemmologists evaluates and grades the diamonds.  A diamond’s colour, clarity (presence of inclusions and blemishes), cutting style, shape and proportions, and weight are mentioned in the report.

GIA and IGI are the leading international diamond certifying laboratories. They certify both natural and lab-grown diamonds using the same rigorous scientific testing. The diamond report number is laser inscribed on the diamond’s girdle. The description specifies whether the diamond is natural or lab-grown. The term "Laboratory-Grown" is mentioned in the report.
